Excellent album all aroundMar 09, 2010 Radio played the devil out of I'm Yours that's on this album. It's still a good tune. It's got a great hook and is just plain catchy.
How about the rest of the album? Well it's worth staying around to listen to. His band is SMOKIN'. The horns are fabulous and the rhythm section is too. They're tight. Everything just fits together. Jason Mraz is a musician's musician. The guy can sing (beautiful voice) and he can entertain - these can be mutually exclusive, but not in his case. The writing is good. Excellent arrangements, too. The lyrics are very entertaining at times, touching at others.
There are few albums in which the entire album is good. This is one of them.
This album delivers on a lot of albums. I wish I had purchased it sooner.
Over-rated and DULLFeb 28, 2010 Good grief, this thing was almost painful to get through. Fortunately, I borrowed it or I would've been annoyed that I wasted money on it.
The best song (and the reason I borrowed it) was "I'm Yours." None of the rest of the songs even approached the bouncey and fun energy of that and I clicked from track to track in less than ten minutes.
The cover art was awful. It looked as though it was drawn by a child and the titles of the songs and details (no lyrics, thankyouverymuch) in the enclosed booklet were hand-scrawled and difficult to read.
My advice is to avoid purchasing this (unless you really enjoy Mraz's work) and just pay the .99 to download "I'm Yours." Jason appears to be a one-hit wonder.
Man, is this CD great or what?Feb 21, 2010 Wow! I was driving long distance recently, listening to one CD after another in the car stereo, and this one really stood out well above the others. In my opinion, this is one of the most enjoyable CDs released in at least the last 10 years. The music is awesome, most of the lyrics are fun, interesting, and/or thought provoking, and the whole CD just flows from one song to another. An absolutely wonderful experience!
Jason Mraz, extraordinare!! please press 2 if you're not availableFeb 07, 2010 Best CD I bought this year..The year is young but this is a must have.
We Sing, We Dance, We Steal ThingsFeb 06, 2010 Not my favorite CD ever but definitely has a few really good songs. I'm Yours and Details in the Fabric are definitely worth a listen to.
