This was a gift for a friendAug 14, 2010 This album was a gift for a friend, she loved it. She had it once before and it was stolen from her car so she was very happy to have it again. Good and fast service from Amazon.com too.
King for 40 yrs!Jul 26, 2010 Carole King released this music almost 40 yrs ago and James Taylor recently stated that this album is still in the top 200!!!
James Taylor sings "You Have A Friend" from this album and other artists have borrowed songs from this album that was written by King. If you like Carole King, then you must have this CD.
TapetryJul 06, 2010 An excellent album, as I knew from owning it in the past. It arrived quickly, and is a pleasure to re-unite with this wonderful album.

Creating Or Defining A Genre?Jun 17, 2010 TAPESTRY may not be the first songer-songwriter album, but it is almost certainly the one defined the genre, bringing into clear focus the type of personal autobiographical, and socially relevant songs that like-minded artists would taskle for the next 30 years and beyond. Along with james Taylor, Carole King would become the face of this fledgling phenomenon and Tapestry is the greatest monument to its potential for beauty and relevance.
First, last and always, the greatness of TAPESTRY lies in the incredible quality of the songs. Every one is a classic, from the upbeat opener, "I Feel The Earth Move" to the closer "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman." Aretha Franklin will forever posesss the definitive version of the latter song, but in the hands of King, the songwriter, it is transformed.
In short, this is one of the greatest collections of songs ever assembled on one album in the singer-songwriter genre.
