pure ecstasyMar 07, 2010 If you need to tune your piano perfectly do it while listening to Ella. My father introduced me to Ms. Fitzgerald almost 60 years ago and I have not gone a week without playing at least one of her recordings. After you are helplessly in love with this woman look for her together with Louis Satchelmouth Armstrong. Sit back, close your eyes, and experience unequalled artistry.
CD of a great!Feb 07, 2010 The CD came in with no blemishes but since my last experiecne did not go so well (cracked case) I'm giving it a 4 STAR ...
GREAT ENTERTAINMENTJan 31, 2010 EASY ON YOUR EARS A PLEASURE TO HEAR AFTER A HARD DAY WITH ALL THE NOISE WE ARE EXPOSED TO IN EVERYDAY LIFE, WORTH OWNING.

You have to like "scat"Oct 21, 2009 Ella had the sweetest voice ever, and we have several of her great recordings that we like much better than this one. A little scat singing goes a long way; this disc has way too much.

So-so.May 19, 2009 Not the very best, or even the second best of Ella Fitzgerald, by a looong shot! It's a survey, which is fine. But it misses the best of the song book material, in my opinion. Ella's interpretations of the American songbook was where she was at her most comfortable: Moderately bluesy, clear, agonizingly seductive and pure all at once.
