It's more a story about young people coming of age, friends all a bit out of touch with the direction in which their lives are headed. So it makes sense that the songs included here--mostly disco chestnuts--are far from groundbreaking. Contributions from Alicia Bridges, Diana Ross, Chic, and Sister Sledge are safe bets that give the film its Studio 54 shadings. Eveyln "Champagne" King's "I Don't Know If It's Right" and Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes' "The Love I Lost" may the lack the quirks of "Doctor's Orders" by Carol Douglas and "Let's All Chant" by the Michael Zager Band, but it still makes for a solid, fun collection of disco tunes. --Jason Verlinde | | | Product Details: | | | Audio CD Release Date:

Great Collection of Disco HitsMar 14, 2010 Some old favorites, including songs I never really knew the titles of but had always liked... a great collection of disco songs!
excellent and a halfFeb 09, 2010 I have, as a musician and listener, grown in my appreciation of disco. Say what you will about the 1970s implications of 54 vs CB's, disco had the best players, and the instrumental work is amazing.
But that is not why I came. I am in town to tell you about the brilliant transformation of a piece of music.
India and Nuyocian Soul take a cheesy lounge piece, "I Love The Night Life" and make it into a brilliant piece of melodic soul jazz. It is stunning with its strong vocals, amazing bass playing, and new, highlighted beem of melody. Free of 70s soft rock clouds, it is spiced with vibraphone and ends with a tear inducing trumpet refrain straight out of 1950s Miles' playbook. . A song I hated is now a song I love, dearly.
As said in Nightlife's resurection. "Are you ready for this?"
Let's party. Let's boggie.
Disco MusicDec 18, 2009 I was very happy with my disco cd. It arrived fairly quickly. The packaging was intact, the cd was in perfect, brand new condition. I would definitely order from amazon.com again.
The Last Days of Disco SoundtrackOct 02, 2009 Good quality cd and by the original artists. It still makes me dance after all these years!
One of the best soundtracks ever!Jun 11, 2009 'The Last Days of Disco' is one of my favorite movies, and this is why I love the soundtrack so much. It's fun and nostalgic. Some of the songs I really like, and some I never liked, but now I love them all, because I think about scenes from the movie when I hear them. I love Chloe Sevigney and all the hot guys in the movie and I wish I was there! So since I don't have time to watch the movie over & over, I listen to this on a regular basis. If you haven't seen the movie--DO IT!!!
