Through the ages..Nov 20, 2009 I loved this CD when is came out and still do at 36. Well worth the purchase or download.. A must have for any music lover.
Too cool to be a classic - and yet it is.Aug 10, 2009 Gee...I don't subscribe to the idea that the good old days are better (or worse) musically than now, but,
I dunno, De La Soul's "3 Feet High and Rising," (along with records like the Stone Roses album) sometimes make me think that 1989 was some sort of high watermark for popular music.
Calling a record a 'classic' or 'landmark' loads on a lot in the way of expectation, but this album can easily carry it off.
It doesn't need stuffy admiration or solemn praise.
It's fun. It just is.
Originally I had the vinyl with the tricky cover that didn't wear so well.
From Amazon I got the anniversary version of the CD with the bonus disc and I'm glad I have it.
A+ Great TransactionJan 12, 2009 Product came quickly and in great condition. De La Soul albums are pretty hard to find, so this seller is definitely reliable and fair. Thank you for doing business!

How high is the water, mama?Nov 26, 2008 Since nobody has mentioned it, this album is probably the only classic hip hop album with a title taken from the lyrics of a Johnny Cash song.

This speaks to the sense of humor, play, and eclecticism that makes this album one of the best I've ever heard in any genre.
